What is an Indian head massage?
Indian head massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress. In Western culture today we spend much of our time in our heads, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind and is surprisingly deeply relaxing. Working with a firm and gentle rhythm it helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as calming the spirit and aiding relaxation, it also improves circulation in the head, enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.

Where will I be treated?
Your Indian head massage will be in a comfortable, calm treatment room with soft lighting and specialist relaxation music.
Alternatively, if you would prefer as you can remain fully clothed throughout this
treatment and no oils are used, it is perfect for the workplace, social groups and
residential homes. Call 01708 747991 to discuss office based therapy -
What will happen during the treatment?
During your Indian head massage therapy, you may remain clothed at all times. You will be seated on a chair from where the treatment will take place.
The massage usually begins with the upper back, where a combination of deep massage and pressure points help to relax the muscles and to loosen and melt knots. Moving through the shoulders and upper arms further releases the common spots for holding stress and tension, and then working deeply into the neck where tension accumulates relieves headaches and improves cerebral spinal fluid circulation. Moving up to the scalp, techniques are used that stimulate, relax and revive the whole of the head, increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. Finally the treatment may include a gentle face massage with techniques that help circulation, skin tone, and sinus and headache problems.
Is there a consultation process?
Yes. If you have a computer, to save your treatment time, we’ll send you a consultation form to complete before you come along for your Indian head massage.
When you arrive we’ll chat through this to fully understand what you would like to get out of your Indian head massage treatment. We will then decide together on a treatment plan.
Why would I not be able to have an Indian head massage massage?
There are a few illnesses which mean an Indian head massage would not be the best holistic therapy for you. In this instance, we wouldn’t be able to treat you with an Indian head massage, but there are plenty of other therapies that would be more suitable and we can help and advise you in making the best choice.
